This fall, we are excited to be launching a new coordinated vision and structure for all faith formation programs at OLPH. One Church, One Faith brings together all faith formation and sacramental preparation programs on Wednesday evenings, including:
The highlight of One Church, One Faith is a full-community evening of the First Wednesday of each month called Week One. On these evenings, the entire parish community will gather together for a shared meal (prepared and served by a parish ministry), breakout formation sessions on a common topic based on age, and a concluding prayer service. This year's One Church, One Faith Program Guide contains information on all of these faith formation opportunities, including dates, topics, and contact information. Click here to view the OCOF Program Guide.
Catholics Returning Home (CRH) is a parish based program designed to reach out and invite nonpracticing/inactive Catholics to return "Home to the Catholic Church" and resume active practice of their faith. Presently, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church has two major out reaches per year. We begin advertising the program before Christmas and Easter and present the sessions early in January and again after Easter. The same six-week series is repeated twice per year. Click on the links below for more information.
Invite someone you know to "Come Home" to the Catholic Church. Click here to download and print off a special invitation letter that you can give to someone you invite.

Theology of the Body starts now! The Theology of the Body for Teens presents the two hottest topics on the planet - God and sex - and "marries" them through Pope John Paul II's compelling vision for love and life. It will help answer questions you have about your bodies, issues on sexual morality, and how you are uniquely created for greatness - all from a Catholic perspective. Full-deanery gatherings will be held every other month. In between these deanery gatherings, each parish will host regular small-group discussions. At OLPH, our small-group discussions on the Theology of the Body will be held at Youth Group on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Wednesdays of the month at 6:30 pm and will be led by Lea Lynn Orberson until we hire a new youth minister. The first youth group is next Wednesday, Sept. 16. You're invited to the deanery gathering this Sunday, Sept. 13 at 6:00 pm in the Activities Center at Providence High School and then the small-group discussions starting next Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 pm in the OLPH youth room. If you can't make it to everything, that's all right - come when you can!
For information on any of these retreats, visit the website of New Albany Deanery Catholic Youth Ministry (www.nadyouth.org). Retreats are held for all high school ages as well as young adults. OLPH contributes $30 toward the cost of each deanery retreat except the Senior Christian Awakening Retreat, for which we contribute $70 toward the cost. Scholarships are also available.
More Info: Join the entire parish community for Week One-a full-community evening of food, fellowship, faith formation, and prayer. The evening begins with a free, simple supper in Wagner Hall, followed by a discussion for high school youth in the Youth Room on prayer. At the end of the evening, everyone gathers in the church for Night Prayer, led by high school youth who attended the One Bread, One Cup conference at Saint Meinrad.
Wondering about the new youth minister? Our parish search committee is currently interviewing applicants for the position of Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. We hope to have someone on board in the very near future. Stay tuned!
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our parish youth ministry programs. From coaching basketball to teaching the tenants of our Catholic faith during Confirmation preparation, there a volunteer job to match your unique gifts and talents. For more information about upcoming volunteer opportunities for adults, please contact the parish office.
In order to provide our young people with a safe environment, we ask that all volunteers provide the youth ministry office with.
